INFORMATION FOR PASSENGERS


All instructions below are intended to ensure your safety. So please take a few minutes to read them.
A safe and without discomfort journey begins through the knowledge of your obligations as a traveler.

ADMINISTRATIVE FORMALITIES


Since it is your responsibility as a traveler, it is very important for you to check the requirements and the different necessary formalities of the country (ies) to / through which you are traveling, it is your responsibility too to be fitted with all the required documents on the day of departure.

We remind you that it is the responsibility of each passenger to get the right information from the competent authorities and ensure that it is in compliance with the customs, administrative and health formalities (countries) to / through which (s) he/she is traveling.

It is worth noting, however, that the company reserves the right to refuse carriage if you miss out any of these requirements, or if your travel documents do not comply with what is requested.

A refused to registration or to boarding passenger for the reasons of mismatched documents would miss his journey. Tunisair can not be held liable for boarding refusal or for access denial from the country of destination for the reason of failing to satisfy the police, health or customs formalities.

ENTRY FORMALITIES FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS IN TUNISIA


FORMALITIES BEFORE YOUR DEPARTURE


You must have a valid passport, an entry visa or transit being valid if it is required in the country of entry and / or of correspondence, as well as your flight ticket.

Passengers with Tunisian nationality and being under the age of 18 who are traveling alone, or with a person other than the father or legal guardian, must have parental authorization the day of the departure.

Make sure before your departure, if a particular vaccine and / or other precautions are required by the country (ies) to / from / through which you are traveling. In this case, you should bring along your vaccination card.

Failing to bring along all or part of the required documents, you could be refused admission into some countries.

A refused to registration or to boarding passenger for the reasons of mismatched documents would lose automatically his/her post. Tunisair can not be held liable for boarding refusal or for access denial from the country of destination for the reason of failing to satisfy the police, health or customs formalities.

FORMALITIES AT THE AIRPORT


When completing the sooner possible the territory exit formalities, you will avoid possible overcrowding security checkpoints that can sometimes be too long and that may delay you.

IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION TO PASSENGERS


THE CHECK-IN DEADLINE (HLE)


The check-in deadline is the limit excess in time after which the passenger check is no longer accepted; consequently your place may be used by another passenger on the waiting list. The HLE is fixed according to the type of flight (being domestic, a medium or a long-haul flight).

Beyond the Check-in deadline (HLE), check-in and (boarding) become out of warranty. Round trip bookings will be automatically canceled and the available places will be offered to passengers who are on the waiting list.

As a security measure, and to avoid possible congestion at check-in and control points, we highly recommend all our passengers to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours prior to the departure time. Late passengers are not acceptable after the closing of the flights.

From Tunisia, the registration boxes for TUNISAIR flights close 40 minutes prior to the departure time.

At some airports abroad served by Tunisair, time limits may be higher. For that, we recommend you to consult them beforehand in order to be taken into account.

BOARDING TIME


You have to respect the time limit Presentation at the boarding gate. In excess of this schedule, your departure is no longer guaranteed.

You must reach your departure lounge immediately after the check-in so as to avoid the risk of missing your flight.

It is important to check your boarding pass, listen to the announcements made at the airport, and monitor screens of information showing the flight status.

LUGGAGE INFORMATION

Do choose tough Luggage that can be closed securely and with suitable packaging if need be.

Baggage must be identified by first name, name, address and phone number of the owner. Remember to remove old labels.

Voluminous or heavy luggage can be carried by Air Cargo.

Passengers traveling with babies less than 2 years old will carry free a stroller or completely folded crib to be transported to the aircraft door. Our staff will put it in the aircraft hold and hand it over to the Passenger at the door of the aircraft once arrived to the destination.

BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE


Each passenger is entitled to a baggage allowance . This Allowance depends on the destination and the fare paid and shown on the ticket as well.

Children under the age of 02 years and not occupying a seat are allowed to take advantage of a free Baggage allowance equivalent to one piece of 10 kg, whatever their destination is.

HAND BAGGAGE


The number of hand luggage that you can carry in the cabin depends on your class of travel.

Passengers travelling in Economy Class are authorized to carry with them only one handbag luggage, whose dimensions can not exceed 115CM = 50 X 40 X 25 (length + width + height) and can not weigh more than 08Kg, plus one accessory.

Passengers travelling in Business Class are authorized to carry with them two handbag luggages, whose dimensions can not exceed 115CM = 50 X 40 X 25 (length + width + height) and can not weigh more than 10 Kg, plus one accessory.

Do not carry in your hand luggage dangerous items (weapons, knives, scissors etc.). They will be removed at the security check and the carrier would assume no liability for that.

Any voluminous or delicate baggage can be accepted in the cabin provided that an additional seat reservation (Extra Seat) is paid for in advance.

CABIN AUTHORIZED ACCESSORIES

  • Purse, computer or camera bag, diaper bag;
  • Laptop computer ;
  • An umbrella ;
  • A snack or drink purchased after having crossed the security control;
  • Purchase of Duty Free products (excluding taxes);
  • Cane stroller.

SPORT EQUIPMENTS AND MUSICAL INSTRUMENT


Tunisair will accept to transport music instruments and the sporting equipment (Golf, Diving, Skis, and Bicycles).

All the articles should be packed in a safe manner for registration and for transport in the cabin or in the hold. They are subject to certain limits of sizes, of numbers, and of weight. For this, do not forget, when booking, to report what type of sports equipment or musical instruments you have in order to obtain approval of carrying.
  • Golf course Equipment:
    Each passenger is entitled to an additional allowance of 15kg for a Golf equipment transport (bag including clubs and shoes) and that, in addition to the free allowance already allocated on his / her ticket.

    Golf equipment must include a packed bag and a pair of shoes with a total weight not exceeding 15 kg whatsoever.

    If the weight of the Golf transported equipment exceeds 15 kg, the passenger will have to pay an additional fee (Excess Baggage).
  • Hunting Equipment:
    Hunting equipment and ammunitions are admitted in Hold only, and must be shipped in a rigid clearly identified case.

    The total weight of ammunition that can be carried by one passenger is 05Kg (container and the contents).

    Passengers traveling in a group must each of them transport his/her own ammunition everyone in his/her luggage, and every luggage can not contain more than 05Kg. The explosive or incendiary projectile cartridges are prohibited.

TRAVEL WITH INFANTS


Baby from 0 to 2 years old:


Children under the age of 02 years and not occupying a seat are allowed to take advantage of a free Baggage allowance equivalent to one piece of 10kg, whatever their destination is.
! PLEASE NOTE: If a passenger is under the age of 02 years at the time of ticket purchasing, but attaining the age of 02 years at the beginning of the journey, he/she has to pay the applicable child tariff and has, by the way, to occupy a seat.
If the registered luggage exceeds the free baggage allowance, the passenger will have to pay an additional fee (Excess Baggage).

Passengers traveling with babies less than 2 years old will carry free a stroller or completely folded crib to be transported to the aircraft door. The crew will put it in the aircraft hold and hand it over to the Passenger at the door of the aircraft once arrived to the destination.

A passenger can travel with only one baby under two years old.

A child of 2 years and over:


Every passenger aged 02 years or more should occupy a seat during his trip withTunisair.

AN UNACCOMPANIED CHILD (U.M)


! Carriage acceptance of unaccompanied children (UM) whose age is between 05 and 12 years old is subject to the prior consent of the Carrier at the time of the ticket reservation and at least 48 hours before the ticket issuance.

Transport of unaccompanied minors will be allowed on flights Tunisair provided that:
  • The child is brought to the airport by a parent or a responsible adult;
  • Parents or legal guardians must complete and sign a corresponding document (information form) bearing all the details of the child’s home at the airport of arrival. The form is given to the parents at the moment of the of ticket’s purchase;
  • The child has to have in his possession an adequate proof of identity , proof of age on the date of the trip beginning;
  • The child has in his possession a written document showing the name and the address of the responsible people who will welcome him/her at the point of destination ;
  • The child is delivered to the adult in charge coming to his/her welcome him. The agent, in care, must obtain formal identification of that adult and must have the signature of that person as well.

RESTRICTIONS ON LUGGAGE


Voluminous or heavy luggage can be transported by Air Cargo.

For security reasons, it is forbidden to place in your luggage any explosive, flammable, corrosive, radioactive, magnetic items, as well as any fragile, perishable or prohibited by the regulations articles (please refer to Section "Prohibited Items").

For safety reasons, never accept a third person luggage.

The following articles must always be transported in the cabin baggage and the carrier shall not assume any responsibility for loss or damage:
  • Fragile items (vase, table, small musical instrument etc.);
  • Objects of value;
  • Cash money , Credit Card, chequebook ;
  • Electronic Hardware (laptop, Camcorder, Camera, mobile phone, PDA, computer games etc.);
  • Personal documents / business documents / identity documents ;
  • Titles / Values;
  • Car / home keys ;
  • Jewelry ;
  • Medicines;
  • Perishable Foodstuffs.


During their regular handling during travel, luggage can show signs of wear. Like most major airlines, we assume no liability for the normal wear and tear on checked baggage as:
  • Wheels or broken legs;
  • Lost print Cords ;
  • Slight Cuts and Scrapes ;
  • Damage resulting from overfilling ;
  • Damage to retractable handles luggage ;
  • Perishable or fragile items damaged during transport;
  • Items improperly packaged or not actually ready for transport ;
  • Damage resulting from inspections of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

PROHIBITED ARTICLES
For security reasons, it is prohibited to transport the following products and hazardous materials in your luggage. They will be removed during security checks, and the carrier has to assume no liability for loss or for damage:
  • Explosives;
  • Fireworks;
  • Compressed gas;
  • Radioactive Materials;
  • Organic peroxides and oxidizing agents ;
  • Toxic Products ;
  • Corrosive products;
  • Flammable liquids and solids ;
  • The heating items such as for underwater flashlights (diving lamps);
  • Weapons;
  • Sharp Products.


IF YOU NOTICE ANY LOSS OR ANY DAMAGE AT YOUR ARRIVAL


If your baggage is delayed, damaged and / or despoiled. We invite you to download the PDF form and follow the instructions shown on that document.

It is essential to make a declaration on the arrival day. This declaration must be made before leaving the litigation airport luggage office within the customs area.

In general, Tunisair apply the terms of the Warsaw Convention, which refers to the weight of the luggage n the calculation of compensation.

The said agreement establishes 21 as days the period beyond which luggage is considered to be lost.

SIf you want to ensure your luggage to their actual value, you have the option to contact insurance from a private insurer. In case of any incident, you would need to contract your insurer who would then compensate you.

COMPANY LIMITED LIABILITY FOR ANY LOSS OR ANY DAMAGE OF ARTICLES TRANSPORTED IN HOLD


! Be careful The responsibility of the company is not engaged in relation to the loss or damage of the following articles that are transported in the hold:

Fragile items (vase, table, small musical instrument, etc.) Valuable articles, Money, Credit Card, Chequebook, Laptop, Camcorder, Camera, Mobile Phone, Electronic Organizer, Personal Documents, Business Papers, Paper ID, keys, jewelry, Medicines, The perishable foods (fresh or frozen foods, fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, poultry, baked goods, flowers of different kinds ...).

PASSENGERS WITH MOBILITY HANDICAPS (PRM)


Your mobility is reduced due to a handicap (Sensory or Motor handicap, Permanent or Temporary one) or any disability or developmental disability, or any other cause of age, and whose situation needs appropriate attention?

TUNISAIR has focused its efforts to provide adequate assistance to your needs both in airports and on board its aircraft, with the aid of qualified staff who have received, for that aim, specific trainings.
  • Booking your ticket and necessary assistance
    In order to let us better take care of you, it is important that you make your request for assistance at the time of your ticket reservation, at least 48 hours before departure.

    ! Acceptance for carriage of passengers with reduced mobility (PRM), is subject to the prior consent of the Carrier at the time of the ticket reservation, at least 48 hours before the ticket is issued..

    Some assistance requests (travel with a wheelchair, with a guide dog, etc.) require a supply of additional information.
  • At the airport
    Assistance to Passengers with Reduced Mobility begins once those people arrive at the airport.

    You will be assisted from the airport point of deposit to the registration desk.

    If you are assisted by an accompanist, we will do our best to attribute to him the seat which is next to you.

    In addition to the medical equipment, TUNISAIR offers the transport of up to two pieces of reduced mobility equipment, including electric wheelchairs, on prior notice of forty-eight hours and subject to area availability, and without prejudice of the application of the legislation regarding hazardous materials.

    If you use a wheelchair, the wheelchair can be registered and put in the hold, you will benefit from that of the assistance company until installation on board.

    If you are traveling with an assistance dog, TUNISAIR offers you the opportunity to carry it in the cabin subject to the regulations in force.
  • At boarding
    In accordance with the airport infrastructure and the aircraft type, your shipment, subject of a request, can be achieved as a priority. It will allow you to sit quietly and make contact with the crew before passengers’ embarkation.

    If you want to use your own wheelchair, it will be assigned to the boarding staff who will give it back to you on arrival.
    The transport chair is free.
  • Onboard
    On board, our cabin crew will be pleased to respond to your assistance requests.
  • Upon arrival
    If you touch an airport within the European Union, after having communicated your needs in advance, the airport staff will have received information about the wished assistance enabling to ensure a good service for the latter.

    Aside from the European Union, where the Regulation of 1107/2006 is not applied in providing assistance on the ground, TUNISAIR will provide you with specific and appropriate means enabling to respond to your needs.
    Personal mobility equipment, such as wheelchairs, belonging to Passengers with Reduced Mobility are given priority during unloading.
  • PARTICULAR CONDITIONS
    The general regulation advises people suffering from recent or chronic diseases, such as those listed below, to contact their doctor before the trip:
    • Cardiovascular Problems;
    • Chronic Respiratory Problems;
    • Severe anemia;
    • Volatile diabetes or cancers;
    • Persons subject to immunosuppressive therapy ;
    • Person whose fitness to travel may be questioned for any reason whatsoever.


    We advise passengers under treatment to keep their fingertips medication in his/her hand luggage.

PEOPLE WITH SENSORY DEFICIENCE


Please do inform us, at time of your ticket reservation, if ever you need special assistance, and let us know in advance whether a dog guide will accompany you.

If a blind passenger travels with his/her dog - guide, this latter is transported in the cabin free of charge and without its cage provided that:
  • the passenger is depending on the dog;
  • a training certificate for the dog is presented;
  • the dog is tied during all the flight in front of the passenger, is muzzled and does not occupy a seat.


PREGNANT WOMEN


!The acceptance of pregnant women on the lines of Tunisair is subject to the following conditions:

(Acceptance for carriage of pregnant women is subject to the prior consent of the Carrier at the time of the ticket reservation).

Pregnant women who have surpassed the 6th month must necessarily be fitted with a medical certificate indicating the number of weeks of pregnancy and without a travel against indication to be drawn up by a doctor 07 days before the date of travel maximum.

Pregnant women are accepted on the lines of Tunisair up to the eighth month of pregnancy.

This certificate must specify in which month the pregnancy is, at the time of the trip and mention the absence of disease state. Only a professional healthcare provider can be positioned on the passenger’s state of health.

In case of pregnancy housing complications, pregnant passenger will be required to have a medical certificate authorizing travel, regardless of the month of pregnancy.

In the ninth month, the pregnant woman is not permitted to travel, unless she is accompanied by her doctor.

TRANSPORT OF NEWBORNS AND OF WOMEN AFTER THEIR

CONFINEMENT


Newborn babies traveling 07 days after their birth must obligatory provide medical certificate.

Women traveling within 07 days after giving birth must necessarily provide a medical certificate.

TRAVELLING ON A STRETCHER


! Acceptance for carriage of passengers on a stretcher is subject to the prior consent of the Carrier at the time of the ticket reservation, at least 72 hours before the ticket is issued.

! Details regarding the ambulance which will transport the passenger along departure and arrival stopovers (corporations, hospital of origin and of destination) must appear on the reservation.

! Passengers traveling on a stretcher are not allowed on board only by being accompanied by another person, whose seat is reserved next to the patient and is subject to the following conditions:

The patient traveling on a stretcher must be accompanied by a doctor or by a paramedical staff, or by a relative of the sick passenger if it does not require special care during any flight;

The presentation of a medical certificate from the attending physician that should contain, to be containing a full medical report stating the health status of the patient, and specifying the agreement for trip on a stretcher without any risk, either for the patient or for other passengers.

NEED FOR OXYGEN ON BOARD


Generally, it is desirable that the passenger is traveling with a person who can implement oxygen, a doctor or a nurse in preference. He/she can travel alone if he is able to implement it on his/her own as long as he/she is allowed by the medical services.

A medical certificate is required including name, first name, age of the patient, oxygen needs and the number of necessitous bottles.

The use of oxygen provided by the passenger is prohibited.

Tunisair has a standard flow 4l / min.

All cylinders are provided with a mask, incorporated in one size.

Please note: there is no masks for children younger than 2 years.

Acceptance of these devices is subject to specific conditions.

TRANSPORT OF PETS


Some pets (dogs, cats and small cage birds) may be carried on board, provided they meet the following conditions:

The animal must be placed in a container (crate, cage or basket) solid and airy, which aggregate dimensions must not exceed 115cm (55 x 40 x 20cm).

Transported animals must be accompanied with valid documents, such as health certificates, vaccinations, to be duly signed by the health authorities with an entry or transit permits.

The animals carried in the cabin or in the hold are considered as an excess baggage for which a fee is to be applied but with the exception of some cases.

The weights of the animal along with the weight of its container are not included in the baggage allowance of the passenger.

If the container does not meet the minimum conditions of acceptance, boarding be denied.

Regarding birds, cages should be tough enough, with reliable lock. Food and water should not risk tipping. In addition, the cage should be always covered.

Shall in no case be accepted the animals whose special features, bad odor, etc., would be likely hinder to the rest of the passengers and to the crew.

The animal traveling with the passengers at its side must not cause inconvenience to passengers.

Eligibility to animal transport is subject to the condition that the passenger, animal’s owner, assumes full responsibility of it.

Carrier assumes no responsibility for any injury, loss, delay, sickness or death of such animals if the entry or the transit is refused in any country, any state or territory.

Animals in Cabin


Pets (. Dogs, cats, birds ... etc.) can be accepted in the cabin if the following conditions are met:

The passenger must report animal at the time of the trip reservation, at least 48 hours in advance.

The animal must not exceed the weight of 08kg, container inclusive (except for dogs of blind or deaf people).

Beyond the 08Kg, the animal may be transported in the cargo hold, with a condition to find out possibilities of its acceptance at the time of the trip reservation.

Eligibility to animal transport is subject to the condition that the passenger, animal’s owner, assumes full responsibility of it.

Guide dogs, their boxes and their food, accompanying the visually or hearing impaired passengers and physically disabled ones will be carried free of charge in addition to the normal free baggage allowance, in accordance with the Carrier's Regulations. (Specify handicaps).

Animals in Hold


The passenger must report the animal’s transport at the time of the trip reservation (48 hours in advance).

To be accepted, the animal must be placed in a container with all the security guarantees (robustness, floor sealing, closure, aeration), to be appropriate to the animal's size. The weight of the animal along with the weight of its container shall not exceed 32 kg in total.

The container must have a label door address with the name and address of the owner.

Any damaged container will not be accepted at the check-in (closure in good working order). The container should not contain any hay or straw too.

If accepted as baggage, the animal, being in its box container with its food, will not be included in the baggage allowance of the passenger but shall be constituted as an excess baggage for which the passenger will pay the applicable rate.

Eligibility to animal transport is subject to the condition that the passenger, animal’s owner, assumes full responsibility of it.

The following breeds of dogs are not accepted in Tunisia:


The “Pit Bull”, the “Bower Bull”, the “Rottweiler” and the “Tosa Inu”.
